The Odyssey of An Apple Thief

On March 3, 2020 the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research hosted an event celebrating the release of a new English translation of this book translated by Jonathan Layton and edited by Isabelle Rozenbaumas. Scholars Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett and Samuel Kassow joined Rozenbaumas in a conversation about this new publication.

The evening also featured readings from the book by Yuri Vedenyapin and musical performances by violinist and singer Eléonore Biezunski, Yuri Vedenyapin (guitar, vocals), and Ilan Moss (accordion) including songs in Yiddish, Russian, and French.
